Business Wife
Chapter 1
MARA'S POV
“I'm sorry Alex, but we are not possible,” I said coldly to the person in front of me.
Alexander Monte is one of the hottest guys on our campus.
Girls are willing to the lineup just to date him, but not me.
It is not because I don't like him or he is not my type, it's just that, unlike other people, I don't have the freedom to choose the man for me or to fall in love because I only exist for my family's business.
Alex is a good guy and a good friend. But I can't lead him on. I don't have a heart to love. I will just hurt him in the end.
I want him to stay with me as my friend, but because of what he did, I need to stay away from him or I will just lead him on.
I'm pissed because of what he did, I lose a friend AGAIN. I made it clear to all of them that they can't like me because I can’t like them back. How many times do I have to keep telling to them so that they can understand why THEY CAN'T LIKE ME?!
“Mara why can't I love you?” He said. Sadness is visible in his voice.
My heart hurts, I don't want to hurt this guy.
“You know why,” I said almost in a whisper.
“But Mara, I'm freaking rich! If you are telling me that you only exist because of business... then so be it. My family's business is a good asset to your family business. So I don't understand why we can't be together!” He said almost pissed.
I just look at him with no emotion but deep inside I'm hurting. “My family already chose the guy I will marry. And it's not you.”
Alex's forehead furrowed. “Who is he?” He asked almost in a whisper.
“Maru,” I said.
I saw his defeated expression. I don't need to explain to myself why he can't win over Maru. Maru's name is enough for him to understand.
“Sorry, Alex,” I said before walking away from him.
When I reached home, I went straight to my room and lie down on my bed.
I close my eyes and I just let my tears flow.
How many friends do I have to lose?! Why do they keep on liking me and breaking the rule?!
What I did to Alex was not easy. As I said, Alex is a very good friend of mine. He's one of my closest friends. I want our friendship to last, but it's now impossible to happen. Many girls are willing to do everything for him, why did he have to fall for me?!
If only I wasn't arranged with someone, I am very willing to give him a chance. He is a good friend of mine, and he is not hard to love.
I was 10 years old when I found out why I was born in this world. The real purpose of my existence.
My mom and dad did not marry each other because of love. Their marriage was arranged by my grandparents. Since they were a product of an arranged marriage, there is no love in them. I am not made out of love, but out of obligation and business. Can you imagine how painful it is for me to hear those things from the lips of my parents?! I feel so rejected and unloved.
And that same night, I found out that I am already engaged to someone. He is none other than, Andrew Maru Ottave.
What a great choice! Maru's family is the richest in the Philippines, they belong in the top 10 richest people in the world.
At a young age, Maru and I already knew about our engagement. None of us try to question the decision of our parents.
Despite knowing the fact that we will soon be married, we never became friends or lovers. No one made an effort to know each other or try to be friends at least.
We always see each other at school but we never approach one another, even just to say hi or hello.
Our family was quite close which is why we often see each other at some events, but no one made an effort to approach one another.
Since I already know that I am bound to be with Maru, I chose not to commit to a relationship or give myself a chance to experience love. I don't want to hurt the one I will love because I know that even if my love is strong for that person, I will not win over my parents. They are that powerful, plus the fact that they arranged for me to be an Ottave, a more powerful family than mine.
Unlike mine, Maru chose to follow his heart. From what I heard, Maru has been with his girlfriend, Jana for years now and he seems serious about their relationship.
Maru is also known in our school. He was the hottest guy in our school, next to him is Alex. Many girls wanted to date him but only one person was able to succeed, and that is her current girlfriend, Jana.
I just shake my head at that thought. What will happen to them when we get married? Or is he planning to disobey his parents and fight for his love? Did he think that he will win over them?
I honestly don't care what his plan is. If ever he succeeds then good for him. But for sure my parents will arrange me again to someone if Maru was able to convince his parents to marry the girl he loves (though I doubt that he will succeed.) Nothing much will change in my future.
My decision to avoid entering a relationship is still the best option for me. I don't like complications because I knew that I can't do anything about it, same with Maru.
The life that we have is not like a drama on television. Because even if we do our best to fight for the one we love, we can never against our parents. They will only make the people we love live in hell. And I don't want that to happen. I rather sacrifice myself than lead the person I love in hell.
In the end, we can't do anything but give in to them and accept our defeat. That is the reality of life.
There is only one thing I allowed myself to love. And that is the business where I am made for.
Chapter 2
MARA'S POV
'I guess, this is it?' I said to myself.
My family and I are now at the five-star hotel. Did I mention that this hotel is owned by the Ottave family and that we're going to have dinner with them now?
There is no need to ask my parents why we're having dinner with them now. It was quite obvious that it was because of the long-planned marriage.
But I must admit that I didn't expect it to be this fast. It's been a year since we graduated from college. We are still both in the adjustment period in our family business.
Though I heard that Maru will be promoted as the General Manager of their company. I guess he adjusted so fast.
After our college graduation, we both decided to start working in our respective companies. We both started in a lower position.
If you are wondering how did I know all this about him? It's all because of my dad. He always gives me an update on all of Maru's actions or achievements. He likes him that much.
After a few minutes, Maru and his family came. His mom smiled and kiss me on the cheek, his dad also did the same. While Maru, on the other hand, is just standing beside them.
"Maru, aren't you gonna greet your future wife and her parents?" His father said with full authority.
I look at him to see his reaction. He looks like a robot who followed his dad's command. He went to me and kiss me on my cheek. He did the same to my mom. While he offers a handshake to my dad.
After all the greetings, we head back to our table and call the waiter to serve the food.
"So Mara, I heard that your now the head of the Marketing team." Mrs. Ottave said.
"Yes, Mrs. Ottave. I was promoted last week." I said in a formal and respectful tone.
She chuckled. "Oh, Mara you can just call me auntie or mommy if you want." She said sweetly.
"Okay, auntie." I respectfully answered.
"And I heard Maru will be promoted as a General Manager in your company." my mom butt in.
Maru nodded. "Yes. Mrs. Almonte, I will take that position next week."
"Oh dear, you can just call me Auntie." Then she chuckled.
I want to roll my eyes because my mom just copy Maru's mom but I told myself not to react to anything and just be formal.
"Okay, Auntie." He just said.
Our parents began to talk about business while we are having dinner, they sometimes asked me and Maru about our insight or perception of the topic.
"I guess we all know the reason why we had this dinner." Maru's dad said after the dessert was served.
None of us talked or reacted. We all wait for him to continue his speech.
"We are planning to have your engagement next week and your wedding in 3 months," Uncle said with finality.
It was obvious that we have no say in this. My parents and Maru's mom nodded in agreement.
"Okay. I guess 3 months is enough to prepare for the wedding." My mom said.
Uncle look at Maru and said, "And you young man, you need to break up with your girlfriend."
I look at Maru to see his reaction. He clenched his jaw.
I smirked. I've been waiting to witness this moment, I wanted to know what he will do now. He needed to make a decision. Will he fight for the woman he loves or he will just choose to follow his parents?
He sighed and answered. "Yes, Dad."
I was a bit shocked. Is that it? Did he just agree to break up with his longtime girlfriend? He didn't even try to fight for her. I thought Maru is serious with her.
"Good son."
I just shook my head in disbelief.
I was about to leave when my mother stops me.
My brow furrowed. What does she want now?
"Since your wedding will happen in 3 months, it's better if you guys start to get to know each other." My mom said sweetly.
"I guess you're right. We better leave them alone for them to talk and get to know each other." Auntie happily agrees with my mom's idea.
After that our parents went home, leaving me with Maru. We just remain standing.
It was Maru who breaks our silence.
"You want to have coffee with me?" He asked politely.
I just nodded.
He lead me as we went out of the restaurant. We walked together to the hotel's cafe.
All the employees in the hotel are greeting Maru. I also heard some girls giggling because of him.
'OMG! Sir Maru is really handsome'
'I agree! But do you know who is the girl beside him?'
'Girlfriend?'
'What? But Sir Maru's girlfriend is Ms. Jana right?'
I just shake my head as I listen to their whispers.
When we got to the cafe, I saw people staring at us. The manager of the cafe went in our direction and greeted us.
The manager personally guided us to our table and served our coffee. No one tried to strike up a conversation. We just quietly drink our coffee. I'm not that surprised though, it's our first time going out alone together.
We don't know much about each other so we don't know what to talk about.
"So you don't have a boyfriend?" Maru said trying to strike up a conversation.
"I don't," I answered him.
He raised his brow "I thought your boyfriend is Alex?"
My forehead furrowed. "No. He courted me but I rejected him."
"Why did you reject him?" He sounded curious.
I raised my brow. "Isn't obvious?"
He seems confused by my answer.
"I will eventually marry you, so why do I need to have a boyfriend? I don't like to complicate things."
"At least you experience love." He said seriously.
I wanted to laugh but I did my best not to because I don't want him to think that I am insulting him.
"I am not here to love." I just said.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
I heaved a sigh. "I was not made out of love but out of obligation and business. I knew what my life will be so why will I need to waste my time for love?"
He looks at me with pity.
I just rolled my eyes.
'Oh please, I don't need your sympathy Maru.' I said to myself.
"Have you ever been in love?" He seriously asked me.
I chuckled.
Maru creased his forehead.
"No." I simply said.
"Really?"
I nodded. "Yes. How about you? Are you sure that you will break up with Jana?"
He nodded. "Yes. Jana knew that I am engaged to you and I need to break up with her when the time has come that I will finally marry you."
That got my attention. "She knew and yet... really?" I can't believe it!
He chuckled. "Is it that hard to believe? Unlike you, I want to experience love, even just for a short while."
"How did you make her agree to this?" I asked curiously.
He just shrugged.
"How did you make her agree?!" I asked again almost pissed.
He chuckled which made me even more pissed.
"A month after he said yes to me, I told her our situation."
My eyes widened. "Our situation?!"
"Why do you look surprised? We both know that you will marry me right?" He said in a teasing voice.
I rolled my eyes. "Whatever! So she just agrees just like that?"
"Of course not. At first, she wanted to fight for our love but I told her not to bother."
"But why?"
"You seriously ask me that?"
I sighed. "At least you tried right?"
"I thought your heart is as hard as a stone. Now I'm seeing your other side."
"H-ha?"
He shakes his head. "Nothing. Maybe my love for her is not strong enough to fight for her."
"Is it really okay for you to marry me?" I ask him curiously.
He looks at me with seriousness in his eyes. I kind of feel shy by the way he looks.
"Staring is rude," I told him.
He smiled. "Your blushing. Your heart is not really made of stone."
I was about to answer him when he continue to talk.
"And to answer your question, of course, it's okay for me to marry you, I'm actually honored to be chosen as your future husband. You just don't know how many guys out there want to be in my place right now."
Chapter 3
MARA'S POV
The preparation for our wedding finished so fast. I can't believe that they were able to finish all the things needed for the wedding in just 3 months. Normally, you need at least a year to prepare for a wedding.
Our parents wanted our wedding to be the wedding of the year. That's why they made sure that this will be a grand one. No one will think that this wedding was made in just 3 months. People who don't have any idea about the plan will think that it took more than a year just to have this kind of wedding.
Today is my wedding day. On a special day like this, a normal bride will feel nervous and excited, but not me. I felt nothing. I don't feel nervous or excited.
I just look emotionless as the makeup artist does my makeup.
“You know what? From all the brides that I handled, you are the only one who looks emotionless.” My makeup artist blurted out.
I just smile at her. I don't want to explain myself to her, I don't see the need to do it. Plus, I'm sure people knew that this was just an arranged marriage, especially people in our university. They knew that I am not Maru's girlfriend, or even had a relationship with him. Also, people in the university are all aware that I am already arranged with someone.
She sighed. “You should be jumping with joy right now! My gosh! You are marrying Andrew Maru Ottave! You don’t know how lucky you are!”
I just raised my brow. “So what?”
My makeup artist's jaw dropped with disbelief. She didn't expect me to react like that to Maru.
I can't blame her, I knew that Maru is one of the hottest guys on earth, an eligible bachelor. Plus he's a freaking billionaire. What more can you ask for?
I don't know why I am not feeling anything from this wedding. Though, I must admit that Maru is a good guy.
After our café date, we start going out for 3 months to get to know more about each other.
Maru and I can be good friends. Just friends. I don't want to go beyond that. I don't want to expect anything from him, especially since I know that he was in love with someone else. Plus, this marriage is pure business.
I feel sad about their relationship though. Just like what uncle asked Maru, he broke up with Jane right after our family dinner and cafe date. I told him that he don't need to break up with Jana. They are free to continue their relationship even after we got married, I won't mind it.
But Maru did not agree with my suggestion. As per him, Jana did not deserve to be a mistress. I honestly agree with him.
The wedding will finally start in a few minutes.
I went out of our house and ride our limousine that will bring us to the wedding venue. Yelle, my best friend is with me.
“Girl this is it! You are finally getting married!” She said, teary-eyed.
I can see in Yelle's eyes that she was genuinely happy for me and sad at the same time. I just smile at her.
Yelle softly hit me. “Oh my gosh, Mara! I can’t see any emotion in you! I don’t even know if you are nervous or happy! Look at me?! I’m already teary-eyed because you are getting married while you?! Emotionless girl!” She said a bit frustrated.
I sighed and turn to her. “What do you want me to do? I don’t feel anything right now!” I said in frustration.
“You know what? I’m almost convinced that your heart is made of stone.” She can't help but comment.
I just shrugged.
“But be honest with me Mara, are you sure that you don’t have feelings for Maru? I mean OMG! That's Andrew Maru Ottave!!! He’s so freaking hot! I can’t believe that you are not attracted to him.” She asked me curiously.
I listen to her and I check if I have feelings for him. Yelle is right, Maru is a great catch. Aside from his looks and family background, he is also smart, nice, and has a sense of humor. Any woman will easily fall for him.
“Well... Maru is handsome, I must admit. Plus he is a gentleman. Oh, and I didn’t expect that he also has a sense of humor, and he’s fun to be with.” I honestly told her.
I am not aware that I am already smiling while I was talking about Maru.
“OMG friend!” Yelle teased me.
“Stop that! You’re acting crazy again.” I said while chuckling.
Yelle hugs me. “I’m just happy because I can confidently say that my friend is not made of stone. You have a heart finally! And I didn’t expect to see you blush.”
My forehead furrowed. “Blush?”
I can't be blushing. There is no reason for me to do so. Maybe Yelle is just teasing me because she wanted me to feel something about Maru and this wedding.
She nodded and smile teasingly. “Oh yes, my friend. If you can only see yourself while you are telling things about him, you will see how much you admire him while you are... blushing.”
‘Is Yelle telling the truth? Did I really blush while talking about him? What does it mean? Am I feeling something for him?' I asked myself.
The limousine stops.
“Mara, we are finally here!” Yelle happily announces.
I look outside and I saw some of our family friends entering the church. While the people who are part of the wedding entourage are going to their places.
“Are you ready to be Mrs. Ottave, my friend?” Yelle asks me while feeling giddy.
I just gave her a forced smile. Yelle went out of the car to join the entourage group. I remain seated in the car as per the wedding coordinator's instructions.
I felt my heart beat fast. ‘Why did I suddenly feel nervous?’
Chapter 4
MARA'S POV
I’m not sure if what I feel right now is normal. My heart is beating so fast that I think it's going to explode.
“Friend are you okay?” Yelle asked while holding my cold hands.
I looked at Yelle and just nodded. I can’t utter a word because of what I am feeling now.
Yelle went back to the car to fetch me. Maybe she notices that I am not as relaxed or calm as before. She looks a bit worried but pleased at the same time. I think I know why she was pleased with me being nervous.
Yelle strongly believes that it's better for me to be nervous than to feel nothing at all.
We went out of the car together. She guided me to my parents who are waiting for me.
“You are so beautiful my child.” My mom said with admiration.
My mom's eyes look teary. She touched my face and hug me. I can feel the warmth from my mom's hug. It warms my heart. This is the first time that my mom did this to me.
I can't help myself but hug her back. Deep inside I know I always wanted this kind of warmth from them.
After our hug, my dad turns to me to also give me a warm hug.
“My princess will now be a queen. Are you ready my princess?” My dad said softly.
I find all of this so weird. My parents never did this kind of thing to me. They act like caring and loving parents. I thought that I will never receive warmth from them.
The wedding has finally started. Maru and his parents walk down the aisle, uncle was on his left side while auntie is on the right side. The bridesmaids then proceed in pairs. Yelle, my maid of honor walks alone.
While Yelle is slowly walking, they close the church door in preparation for my entrance. In a few minutes, they open the door and I started to walk down the aisle. I saw my parents waiting for me on the side. My dad offers his hand to me when I reach them. I accepted it and started to walk with my parents.
Our wedding songs started to play.
(Music)
Come and lay here beside me
I'll tell you how I feel
As I walk to the altar, my heart starts to race again. I can feel my hands starting to sweat. My dad squeezes my hand to comfort me.
(Music)
There's a secret inside me
I'm ready to reveal
To have you close, embrace your heart
With my love over and over
These are things that I promise
My promise to you
All the people's eyes are focused on me. They all look so happy as they watch me walk down the aisle. It's as if this wedding happened because of love and not because of our parents.
(Music)
For all of my life
You are the one,
I will love you faithfully forever
As I was going near the aisle, I finally saw my other half, Maru.
(Music)
All of my life
you are the one
I'll give to you my greatest love
For all of my life.
Maru looks extra handsome in his suit today. It's not my first time seeing him in a suit, but this one is different. He is really glowing. Beside him is Brent, his best man, and his best friend.
Maru is looking at me while smiling. He looks so happy right now which I found very weird. How can he look so happy right now? He is marrying a girl who was chosen by his parents and not his own choice.
(Music)
Let me lay down beside you
There's something you should know
I shoved those negative thoughts and decided to look at him and give him the same smile.
(Music)
I pray that you decide to
Open your heart and let me show
Enchanted worlds of fairy tales
A wonderland of love
I can't believe that the things happening in movies and novels are now happening to me. My eyes are fixed on Maru, it was as if we are the only people in the church. It's like everyone suddenly disappears and it's just me and him.
(Music)
These are things that I promise
My promise to you
When we finally reach him. Our eyes were locked on each other. My heart starts to beats crazily again. I'm a bit worried because my parents and Maru might hear this crazy beat of my heart.
(Music)
For all of my life
My attention was shifted to my parents when I felt my mom and dad's touch. They smile and kiss me on the cheeks. I smile genuinely at them. Then my dad slowly gave my hand to Maru.
(Music)
You are the one,
I will love you faithfully forever
Maru softly holds my hand and gave me a warm smile to my parents.
“Take care of my princess. Treat her like a Queen.” My dad told him.
I found myself smiling and hearing those words from my dad. Indeed this day is a special one, not just because of the wedding but because I am experiencing things that I never had with my parents. And I couldn't be happier. This day will surely be a memorable one.
(Music)
All of my life
you are the one
I'll give to you my greatest love
For all of my life
“I will Uncle, you don't need to worry.” He assures my dad while looking at me.
(Music)
You are the one,
I will love you faithfully forever
“Are you ready my Queen?” He asked sweetly.
I chuckle and nodded at him.
(Music)
For all of my life
you are the one
I'll give to you my greatest love
For all of my life.
Chapter 5
MARA'S POV
Everything is new to me. Not only this wedding but all of the things that are happening now.
First is my parents, they act as if they love and care for me. Then this heart of mine. They keep on beating crazily. I never felt like this before. I don't know if I'm excited, nervous, or both.
“Are you okay?” Maru asks sweetly.
I turn to him and force myself to smile at him, just to assure him that I am fine.
Maru squeezed my hand.
I furrowed and look at him.
“Just relax. I'm here so no need to be nervous.” He said in a whisper.
I heaved a heavy sigh. Maru's words calm me a bit. I turn him again and smile at him. This time, I gave a genuine one. Then I mouthed 'thank you’ to him.
“We have come together at the invitation of Mara Denise Almonte and Andrew Maru Ottave to celebrate the uniting in Christian love, their hearts, and lives. This is possible because of the love God has created in them, through Jesus Christ.” The pastor started the wedding ceremony.
“Jesus said, ‘I have come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.’ This abundant life, for many people, is an impossible dream, yet God wants us all to have this abundant life and proved His love for us by giving His Son, that we might have this life.”
“Another way that God provides for this ‘full’ life is by creating those who will love us. Maru has found such a one in Mara hearts and spirits were drawn together before today by the Lord of all creation. Two lives are not united by ceremony, but only in the power, love, and grace of God.”
“Maru and Mara are here to publicly declare that because of Jesus Christ's love, they too can truly love one another. As God demonstrated His love in Jesus, our Lord, Mara and Maru will demonstrate this God-given love by giving themselves to one another and one for the other.”
Can we really learn to love each other?
I shove that idea in my head. I am just feeling sorry because the thing that the Pastor has said is the opposite of what we have.
Maru gently squeezes my hand. I look at our hands then I turn to him.
“Are you okay?” He asked the same question a while ago.
I just nodded and smile at him. I force myself to just focus on the ceremony and stop thinking about other things.
My eyes widen when he placed my hand on his lips and kiss them.
I furrowed but Maru just winked at me.
I shrugged. I should stop reacting to everything that he does. I should just let him do what he wants.
“Maru and Mara, no other human ties are more tender, no other vows are more sacred than these that you are about to assume. You are entering into that holy estate which is the deepest mystery of experience, and which is the very sacrament of divine love.”
The pastor looks at Maru.
“Maru, will you have Mara, to be your wedded wife, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of matrimony; will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, and forsake all others, keep yourself only for her so long as you both shall live?”
He looked at me, and he answered “I will.”
The pastor turns to me after Maru answered him.
“Mara, will you have Maru to be your wedded husband, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of matrimony; will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, and forsake all others, keep yourself only for him so long as you both shall live?”
I look at Maru and then at the Pastor and answer “I will.”
I thought that this wedding would be a normal day for me. I didn't expect to feel so happy at my wedding.
I was looking at Maru when someone caught my attention.
I stare at that person intently and found out that it was Jana. She was standing at the corner of the church.
I feel like I slap by reality when I saw the sadness in Jana's eyes.
I feel sorry for her. If it weren't for me she should have been in my place and these two will have their happily ever after.
I suddenly felt depleted. I'm losing the happiness I felt a while ago.
I saw Maru getting the ring. Then he placed the said ring on my finger.
“Mara wear this ring as a sign of my love and faithfulness to you.” He said.
I took the other ring and place it on Maru's ring finger.
“Maru wear this ring as a sign of my love and faithfulness to you.”
“Really?” He whispered.
I just gave him a cold stare.
“Just kidding hon.”
I just shrugged. Maru is on his playful self again.
Next, we have to give our marriage vow to each another.
“I was writing my marriage vow, but I just can't think of anything.” I started my vow.
“I was so young when I found out about our engagement. I felt nothing." I honestly said.
“We never became friends or lovers even though we know the fact that this day will soon come. And honestly, that was fine with me."
"Last three months, we had the opportunity to know more about each other. Spending those three months with you made me feel happy knowing that the person that my parents chose for me is you."
“Thank you, Maru for being a good friend to me. I'm sure that you will also be a good husband to me."
“I promise you that I will be faithful and will always be here to support you.”
I felt relieved after saying my vow. I wasn't expecting that I will be able to deliver that well without stammering.
Maru holds my hand.
"Hon, I also didn't want to give you a written or rehearsed vow. I want to give you a genuine one." Then he winked at me.
I chuckled.
“You are right, we were young when we found out that we are bound to be together forever. Forever is a strong word for people. It is impossible for some, but if those people don't believe in forever, then let's prove to them that forever does exist and that is Mara and Maru."
“I always wanted to be close to you but I want you to do what you want to do. Date whoever you like. But surprisingly you never had anyone in your life. And for that I am thankful.”
“I promise you hon that I will be forever faithful to you. And I will be a good and loving husband to you.”
'Loving husband?' Those words caught my attention.
I gave him a sweet smile. I honestly don’t know how to respond to that. Jana’s sad eyes are running through my mind.
“I now pronounce you, husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.”
My heart started to beat crazily again. And this time I know why. This is my first kiss!
“Don't worry hon I will be gentle”
I pinched him.
“Aw! Hon!”
The crowd laughs at us.
“Maru will you please behave!” I whispered.
“Yes, my dear wife.”
I can't help but smile when I heard him call me wife.
He lifted my veil slowly.
He held my face and kiss me.
I close my eyes when I felt his lips on mine. It was soft and gentle.
Everyone is cheering for us.
Maru keeps on kissing me. I softly punch him to stop.
I felt my face heat because of that LONG kiss.
I give him a death glare.
“What? The pastor said that I can kiss you.”
“But not that long.” I hissed.
“Okay, sorry wife. Let's just continue later.”
“Shut up Maru!”
He hugs and started to caress me. “Okay, sorry wife.” Then kiss me again.
When the ceremony ended, we started to do picture taking with our family and entourage.
We took again our last shot when Jana caught my attention again.
She's now crying. I look at Maru and it seems like he knew nothing about Jana's being here at our wedding.
“Maru, Jana’s here.” I finally told him.
I can't keep it to myself anymore. My conscience is eating me.
Maru looked in the direction where Jana was. When Maru saw her I saw him furrowed.
I kind of feel weird about his reaction. I expected him to look sad or feel sorry for the girl he truly loves.
“I'm sorry,” I told him.
“Shush don't be hon.” He said.
