Betrayed by the One I Love, I Ended Up with His Younger Uncle
1
"I want you to help me fake a private plane crash so I can leave Fraser for good."
When Mirabel made this request, her best friend Keely was so shocked her jaw nearly dropped. She thought she must have misheard.
It felt as surreal as the time she first heard about their marriage.
A poor girl from the countryside marrying the wealthy heir of New York City's elite Mars Family—two worlds so far apart that no one could believe they would end up together.
The rumors flew. Some speculated Fraser was just looking for novelty, others claimed Mirabel was a stand-in for the love of his life. Some even thought he married her on a dare.
But over their three years of marriage, Fraser proved with his actions that he had married Mirabel for one reason: he loved her.
And he loved her madly.
From the moment Fraser saw Mirabel, it was love at first sight. He launched a relentless pursuit, showering her with gifts and making grand gestures.
He donated billions to charities in her name, funded the construction of Elementary Schools around the globe—all named "Mirabel Elementary."
He wanted the whole world to know Mirabel, to thank Mirabel. His hope was that if she ever found herself in trouble, someone would always be there to help her.
To spend more time with her, Fraser joined her in part-time jobs—serving in restaurants, handing out flyers, sorting packages. This was a man who had never done his own laundry, yet he stuck by her side for two years, even when his violinist’s hands became calloused.
His sincerity eventually won her over. However, their vast difference in family background meant his parents strongly opposed their relationship.
Fraser endured sixteen rounds of family punishment, leaving his back scarred, but his efforts were futile. When he realized this, he gave up his inheritance entirely, choosing to build his life from scratch, just so no one could interfere in his choice of partner.
His friends thought he had lost his mind. The shrewd businessman, known for his sharp decisions, had abandoned unimaginable wealth for a woman.
The Mars Family had no choice but to relent.
After their marriage, Fraser replaced all female staff around him with male employees.
Even though Mirabel hadn’t asked, he reported his schedule in meticulous detail and installed tracking systems to reassure her.
Their relationship became the epitome of a fairy tale romance, and netizens dubbed them the ultimate couple, even outshining celebrities.
But no one except Mirabel knew the truth: this perfect man had fathered twins with another woman and built a second family in secret.
When Mirabel discovered this, she was so devastated that she fainted, coughing up blood.
Fraser abandoned a billion-dollar deal to rush back to her side, caring for her tirelessly for two days and nights.
When she woke up, he sat at her bedside, warming the IV fluid in his hands, his face etched with worry.
"You're awake? You scared me to death." Fraser held her face against his, his voice trembling as if he might cry.
This was the same man who had once stared down a gun without flinching, but hearing about Mirabel’s collapse had left him trembling.
Looking into his eyes, filled with worry and affection, Mirabel’s heart broke.
His love was real—there was no denying that. But had those same tender eyes gazed at Darlena? Had he whispered sweet nothings to her as well?
Darlena, his childhood sweetheart, was the woman he had cheated with.
When Fraser had first pursued Mirabel, Darlena retaliated by bullying her in school, humiliating her at work, and even hiring thugs to harm her. Fraser had caught her red-handed and nearly destroyed her family. If not for his mother’s intervention, he might have ended Darlena’s life.
So if Mirabel hadn’t seen the damning videos and DNA test results herself, she would never have believed Fraser had betrayed her—and fathered twins, no less.
Mirabel turned away, tears soaking her pillow.
Fraser didn’t notice her tears. Thinking she was tired, he said gently, "Mirabel, the doctor told me you're two months pregnant. We’re going to have our own baby!"
The usually composed Fraser was now overjoyed, almost childlike. "Our wedding anniversary is in five days, and now we’re expecting a baby. It’s a double blessing!"
Mirabel’s eyes flew open.
As a child, she had been injured after her father kicked her into an icy river. The damage had made pregnancy nearly impossible, or so countless doctors had told her.
This had caused friction with the Mars Family, who had given her the cold shoulder more than once.
Yet Fraser had always stood by her, saying, "Mirabel is the love of my life. Just having her with me is a blessing. If anyone dares to mistreat her over this, we’ll sever all family ties."
Now, touching her belly, Mirabel couldn’t hold back her sobs. This baby… why did it have to come at such a time?
Fraser pulled her into his arms, comforting her softly. "Why are you crying? Who upset you? Tell me, and I’ll handle it."
But as Mirabel caught the faint scent of unfamiliar perfume mixed with baby formula on him, she pushed him away and vomited.
Thinking it was morning sickness, Fraser instinctively cupped his hands to catch it, unbothered by the mess.
Watching him, Mirabel felt conflicted. This man had loved her with all his heart for three years. She loved him just as deeply and couldn’t imagine life without him.
For a moment, she wanted to forgive him. If Fraser was willing to cut ties with Darlena, perhaps they could go back to the way things were.
But then his phone buzzed. He glanced at it, said he had urgent business, and left in a hurry.
Half an hour later, Mirabel received a photo from Darlena. It showed Fraser holding the twins, kissing their foreheads tenderly.
The photo shattered all her illusions.
Fraser had not only cheated on her but also built a family with someone else.
After leaving the hospital, Mirabel found Keely and asked her to fake a plane crash.
She knew Fraser. He would never agree to a divorce, nor would he let her leave. If she tried, he would lose his mind.

After leaving Keely's place, Mirabel immediately traveled to another province to schedule an abortion.
The Mars Family had far-reaching connections, and if she had stayed in the city, Fraser would have found out before the procedure even began.
Just before entering the operating room, Darlena sent her a video.
The video lasted over two and a half hours. In it, Darlena was dressed in seductive lingerie, while Fraser wore a sharp suit, holding a whip. On a nearby table were handcuffs, candles, and other items.
The video showed them in various rooms—kitchen, desk, hallway—engaged in passionate encounters in every corner of the house.
The Fraser in the video was someone Mirabel had never seen before—wild and uncontrollable.
Every scene felt like a knife twisting in her heart, but she continued watching the entire video, almost as if torturing herself.
"Miss, it's time for your procedure. Are you sure you're okay?" the doctor asked, a note of concern in her voice.
Only then did Mirabel realize she had been crying uncontrollably, her whole body trembling.
She wasn’t just heartbroken; she was in pain because she realized, despite knowing Fraser had cheated, she couldn’t let go of her love for him.
He was a living, breathing person, not a piece of clothing that could be discarded at will. Letting him go from her life felt like she was being torn apart—like her heart was being violently ripped from her chest.
Wiping away her tears, Mirabel made a decision. She would give Fraser one last chance.
She called Fraser, her voice shaky. "Where are you? I miss you. Can you come back?"
Fraser’s voice was tight, like he was holding something back. "Honey, there's something important at the company. Tonight... uh!"
He grunted, his tone suddenly urgent. "I’m not coming home tonight!"
The phone clicked off, and Mirabel stood frozen, tears streaming down her face. He had never hung up on her before—this was the first time.
A few minutes later, she closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and whispered, "I'm fine. Let's do the procedure."
Later that night, she returned home, exhausted. Keely texted her: "Baby, everything's set. The procedure will be in two days."
Mirabel collapsed onto her bed. Throughout the night, she kept waking up in tears, only to fall asleep and cry again. In the early hours, she curled up in the darkness, hugging her knees, waiting for morning.
The next morning, Fraser came home.
He removed his coat, waiting for the chill to leave his body before walking over to her and pulling her into an embrace. He then opened a tablet and showed her a picture of an island.
"Honey, look at this island! I just bought it for our child. Also, I've started construction on amusement parks across the country. We’ll name them after the baby. When the baby is born, I’ll throw a grand banquet to celebrate!"
Fraser said all this with excitement, but then noticed Mirabel hadn’t said a word since he entered.
He suddenly heard her quiet sobs.
He rushed around to face her and found her tear-streaked face.
"What’s wrong?" he exclaimed, shocked. He had never seen Mirabel cry like this, and his voice trembled with panic.
If Mirabel was the least bit unhappy, Fraser would feel a hundred times the pain. Her every emotion was magnified in his heart. At that moment, seeing her tears, his heart ached as if someone was squeezing it.
"I’m fine," Mirabel said, turning her face away from his hand. "Pregnant women can be like this sometimes—just suddenly want to cry."
"Really?" Fraser said, his tone softening. "Don’t worry, I’ll stay home with you all day. Anything you want to eat, I’ll make it for you."
"No need," Mirabel replied. "I’m going to a reunion with my classmates this afternoon, and later, I’ll visit a few teachers. You can go ahead and do your work."
Mirabel stood up. She was leaving the country soon and probably wouldn’t return. She planned to meet with her friends one last time, as a goodbye.
Fraser didn’t want her going out alone and insisted on accompanying her.
When they entered the reunion banquet room, laughter erupted from the guests.
"I knew Mirabel would be here today, and of course, Fraser would be following her. He’s always afraid she’ll slip away."
Fraser smiled good-naturedly, taking the teasing in stride. He personally handed out gifts to everyone.
The guests gasped. "Oh my God, this is the latest set of jewelry from Fragrant Snow, worth seven figures! The president always gives us such expensive gifts—this is all thanks to Mirabel!"
Mirabel was well-liked in college, and the people in the room were her close friends. Fraser had made an effort to please them too.
When they were happy, Mirabel was happy.
Everyone secretly marveled at the power of love, which had turned Fraser from an aloof figure into someone who smiled and laughed like a sunflower in front of others.
"Mirabel, I really envy you. You have such a loving husband!"
Hearing these words, Mirabel didn’t smile the way she used to. She just gave a polite, distant smile.
While the room was filled with laughter and chatter, the door suddenly opened.
Darlena entered, decked out in expensive jewelry and looking radiant.
"Why wasn’t I told about the reunion? Aren’t we in the same class?"
