After Love Faded, She Left Forever
Chapter 1
"Miss Anna, are you sure you want to erase all your personal records? Once it's done, you will effectively cease to exist, and no one will be able to find you."
Anna paused for a moment, then nodded firmly.
"Yes, I want to disappear from everyone’s view."
There was a hint of surprise on the other end of the line, but they replied quickly, "Understood, Miss Anna. The procedure will be completed within two weeks. Please be patient."
After hanging up, Anna took out her phone and booked a flight to France for two weeks later.
Meanwhile, a replay of the Texas Consortium’s press conference was on TV.
A week earlier, Jonathan, the president of the Texas Consortium, unveiled a unique piece of jewelry made from the world’s finest diamonds and gemstones, crafted specifically for his wife and named—
AYANNA
By naming it after Anna, Jonathan declared to the world his undying love for her.
The launch of AYANNA went viral across all major platforms, generating endless buzz. After the press conference, the TV began showing clips of reporters interviewing people on the street.
“Hello, sir! Are you aware of the legendary romance between Mr. Jonathan and his wife?”
A woman in a floral dress replied with envy, "Who doesn’t know their love story? Mr. Jonathan even published a book filled with little notes about his wife! Since she loves cherries, he filled the entire garden with cherry trees. I told my husband to learn from him, but he said he couldn’t be that kind of man. It's just frustrating!"
The reporter continued interviewing others.
A young female college student stood before the microphone with her hands clasped to her chest, saying with starry eyes, “Their love story is like a fairy tale come true! Mr. Jonathan is just the epitome of a true romantic. Four years ago, when his wife was critically ill and needed a kidney, he didn’t hesitate. Despite everyone’s objections, he lay on the operating table that very day to give her his own. He said his wife was his life, and if she were gone, he wouldn’t want to live either. What a perfect man!”
…
The reporter interviewed countless people, each expressing envy for Jonathan and Anna’s love.
The news replayed over and over, while Anna watched with a bitter smile.
Since childhood, her looks had attracted countless admirers.
But after her parents’ early divorce, Anna had never trusted love. She rejected every confession, saying, "Sorry, I don’t want a boyfriend. I'm not interested in romance."
Then she met Jonathan.
Unlike others, he persistently pursued her for three years, only growing more determined with each rejection. Once, he nearly risked his life in a high-stakes race just to win a necklace she liked.
Only then did her heart begin to soften.
When they were together, his love never wavered; in fact, he went to great lengths to make her feel cherished, gradually melting her hardened heart.
Even his proposal took fifty-two attempts before she finally found the courage to say yes and agreed to marry him.
On the day of his proposal, Anna looked at the ring on her finger, tears in her eyes, and told Jonathan, “Jonathan, from now on, I’ll strive to be the best wife I can be for you, through life and death, poverty or wealth, and I will never betray you. But there’s one thing you must remember: I cannot tolerate deception. If you ever lie to me, I’ll disappear from your world forever!”
The beautiful memories had since been shattered by a harsh reality.
Three months ago, she discovered that Jonathan had secretly taken a lover. He spent his days with Anna, and his nights with her. His heart was already divided between the two.
It turned out to be true: the one who falls in love first often falls out of it first, while the one who loves slowly can’t help but keep loving deeply.
Anna smiled bitterly, turned off the TV, and printed out the divorce papers she had prepared, carefully signing her name.
Now, her words had come true. She would disappear from his world forever.
After signing her name, she placed the divorce papers in a beautifully wrapped gift box.
An hour later, Jonathan walked in.
Without even taking off his shoes, he rushed over, holding her close as he apologized softly, “I’m sorry, Anna. I went to pick up the jewelry today, so I’m late for our anniversary. Don’t be mad, okay?”
Jonathan took out the AYANNA jewelry box, coaxing her. The collar of his black shirt was slightly open, revealing faint kiss marks and scratches on his skin stung Anna's eyes deeply.
Was he really out picking up jewelry, or was he with Isabella?
He probably just left Isabella’s bed.
Jonathan, oblivious to her expression, gazed at her with affection, fastening the jewelry on her. The sparkling gems reflected her beauty, making her even more radiant.
"Anna, you look stunning," Jonathan said, his eyes full of admiration.
Anna didn’t show any joy. Instead, she handed him the box with the divorce papers, her eyes red. “This is for you.”
Jonathan looked puzzled, “What is it?”
With a faint smile, Anna replied, “A gift. You gave me a present for our anniversary, so it’s only right I give one in return.”
Jonathan’s eyes lit up with joy, and he eagerly reached to open it.
But Anna stopped him, “Wait two weeks before opening it.”
“Why?” he asked, confused.
“Because this gift will have more meaning if you open it in two weeks,” Anna said, slowly and clearly.
Jonathan paused, but didn’t ask further. Instead, he gently kissed her hand.
"Whatever you say, sweetheart. I’ll wait for the surprise."
He carefully wrote “Open in two weeks” on a sticky note and placed it on the box.
Anna silently watched him do this.
Jonathan, I hope you truly feel surprised when the time comes.
Chapter 2
When Jonathan woke up in the morning, he gave Anna his usual good-morning kiss.
“Anna, I missed our wedding anniversary yesterday. Can I make it up to you today?”
“How about we go to the amusement park? Didn’t you say before that you wanted to go?” Anna wasn’t very interested and was about to refuse, but Jonathan had already prepared everything they needed to go out, even picking out clothes for her.
Once they arrived at the amusement park, he was constantly paying attention to taking care of her.
She barely pursed her lips, and he immediately offered her a drink.
If she looked at a stuffed animal for too long, he would buy it for her right away.
The carousel, bumper cars, Ferris wheel...
Jonathan didn’t care if those rides seemed childish. As long as she liked them, he would go along with her.
Jonathan held her hand almost the entire time, never letting go, even if she tried to pull away. He would hold on tightly.
In the end, he even bought a balloon and tied it to her bag, smiling as he said, “Anna, this way you’ll never get lost.”
Never get lost, huh...
But the place she was going to now, he would never find.
Jonathan, you lost me a long time ago.
The two of them, a handsome man and a beautiful woman, looked so affectionate that they caught the attention of many visitors at the amusement park. Soon, some people recognized them.
“Look, that’s Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan! We actually ran into them here! They’re so sweet!”
A young girl from a couple jumped up excitedly and pulled her boyfriend over to Anna.
“Uh... can we take a picture with you? We’re huge fans of yours, your number one CP fans!”
Anna didn’t want to disappoint the excited girl, so she agreed.
Jonathan wasn’t fond of taking photos, but he was willing to go along with Anna.
Click! The photo was taken. The young couple hurriedly said, “You two really have a great relationship! It’s so enviable! Stay this happy forever!”
Jonathan smiled and nodded.
But he didn’t notice that Anna had remained silent the entire time, because only she knew they wouldn’t have a future together.
At lunch, during a break, Jonathan checked his phone multiple times.
Noticing Anna’s gaze, he quickly apologized and tried to calm her down, “Anna, I’m sorry, I have some work that needs to be handled right now. Please eat first, and I’ll make it up to you later, okay?”
However, the next moment, a picture of a luxurious castle appeared on his phone screen.
He was lying. He wasn’t handling work. He was watching a live stream.
Anna smirked sarcastically, then silently opened the live stream of Isabella on her phone.
Isabella was a relatively unknown internet celebrity, but not long ago, Jonathan had signed her to the company and made her the spokesperson for AYANNA.
Everyone was guessing whether she had someone backing her up with such good resources.
Little did they know, the person behind her was Jonathan.
At that moment, Isabella was livestreaming in front of the amusement park entrance. She proudly showed her phone to the viewers and boasted:
“Look, this amusement park was a gift from my boyfriend. You get a discount if you mention my name, so feel free to come play!”
Hearing this, Anna’s hand that was holding the phone suddenly grew cold, a chill running through her.
The amusement park Jonathan brought her to—was it the one he gave to Isabella?
The comments section was full of disbelief.
“Stop bragging. You, a small internet star, how could you possibly afford a place like this?”
“Just trying to get attention. No proof, I can stand at the amusement park entrance and claim it’s mine too.”
“You must be crazy for fame. Do you even know this amusement park costs billions?”
...
Isabella bit her lip in grievance and said, “I’m not lying! Look, here’s my name on the ownership documents!”
She then took out the property deed, clearly showing Isabella’s name in black and white.
The live stream immediately exploded, with messages flooding in, and people were in awe.
“I was so ignorant! Now I’ve seen a real big shot.”
“Gifting an entire amusement park? What a lavish gesture! This is definitely on par with how Mr. Jonathan dotes on his wife!”
“They say a man’s money is where his love is. Why haven’t I met such an amazing man?”
“Because there are only two such great men in the world: Mr. Jonathan and Isabella’s mysterious boyfriend. Let’s discuss—who loves their partner more? Jonathan with Mrs. Jonathan? Or Isabella’s boyfriend with Isabella? Vote 1 for Jonathan, 2 for Isabella’s boyfriend.”
The comments quickly filled up with votes for Jonathan, since he was famous for his affection for his wife, even spending all his money and nearly his life for her.
Just then, an account named “Like Isabella” appeared, and in one go, it sent a thousand yachts, filling the screen with dazzling special effects, leaving everyone stunned.
In that moment, the number of viewers in Isabella’s live stream shot up from hundreds of thousands to millions.
A bold message flashed across the screen: “Of course, I love Isabella more.”
The live stream exploded again, with everyone frantically commenting.
“The real person has appeared! So rich! So rich!”
Isabella smiled proudly, her eyes full of spoiled affection. “See? I told you my boyfriend loves me.”
Anna’s hand trembled slightly as she gripped the phone, and when she looked up, she saw Jonathan’s lips curled up in a faint smile, his eyes full of adoration.
He was the one who sent that message: Like Isabella.
Her heart felt as if someone had twisted it with all their might. The pain lingered, even after the grip had been released.
